NAGOA-VERNA: Mormugao SC blanked Carmona SC 2-0 to move into the quarter-finals of the Nagoa Village Panchayat Cup organised by Pax of Nagoa SC, at Nagoa-Verna panchayat ground, on Friday.
In the 20th minute, Mormugao’s Stalen Lucas crossed the ball from the left flank to Erazmo Gama who converted to give Mormugao SC the lead.
In the second half, Mormugao SC dominated the proceedings and gave no chance for Carmona SC to score.
In the 44th minute, a counter attack by Mormugao SC through Stelen Lucas’ solo run from half-way line who after dribbling a couple of defenders scored the second for Mormugao.
Mormugao SC will now meet the winner of Navelim Villagers Union and Betalbatim SC in the quarter-finals on April 13.
