Mormugao Utd run riot over Cross Boys

CANSAULIM: Mormugao United SC defeated Cross Boys 8-2 in the GFA Second Division football match, played at Cansaulim ground, on Tuesday.
Mormugao United Sports Club dominated the first half and scored six times.
Mormugao should have opened the scoring in the 4th minute through striker Sameer Borkar but his effort hit the crossbar and went out of play.
It didn’t take long for Sameer to get on the score sheet when Elroy Fernandes found the lanky striker in front of the goal and his well timed volley gave no chance to Cross Boys keeper Clarence Furtardo. 
Clinton Pacheco tried a scissor-kick for Cross Boys in the 12th minute inside Mormugao box but Darsiva Ambere, goalkeeper of Mormugao was equal to the task.
Necissidade Moniz doubled the account for Mormugao in the 17th minute.
A sudden strike by Elroy from the left flank kept the rival keeper at bay to make it 3-0 for Mormugao.
Preetesh Mayenkar of Cross boys took control of the ball from Leevon Pinto and connected it to Akbar Shaik who was lurking in Mormugao box but his low powered shot was easily saved by Mormugao keeper in the 30th minute.
Noel D’Mello of Mormugao’s shot pierced into Cross Boys net in the 32nd minute to make it 4-0.
Sushant Borkar made it 5-0 for Mormugao in the 43rd minute.
Just one minute left for the first half, Sameer Borkar scored his brace for Mormugao.
Crossing ends, Mormugao went all out and once again Sameer saw his effort kiss the crossbar.
Sushant Borkar of Mormugao made it 7-0 in the 64th minute.
While Sadeek Ingalagomdi scored the eighth for Mormugao in the 75th minute.
Preteesh Mayekar and Srigit M scored a goal each for Cross boys in the 80th and 85th minute.
