VILLA-MAREX-CHANDOR: Mount Boys downed Black Arrows 3-1 to move into the quarter-finals of the 17th Villa MAREX Chandor Seamen football tournament, at Villa Marex ground, Chandor, on Tuesday.
In fifth minute, Mount Boys’ Santan Fernandes shot from close range but the latter missed the chance to score.
In the 20th minute, James Rodrigues gave Black Arrows the lead but the joy was short-lived as Santan Fernandes equalised 1-1 for Mount Marys.
It was Darren Fernandes who doubled the lead in the 48th minute.
As the match progressed, in the 56th minute, Mahesh Shirodkar further inflated the lead to make it 3-1 for Mount Boys.
Mount Boys will now meet the winners of Mendes Chandor and Moll Nessai in the quarter-finals on September 12.
