SANVORCOTTO-CUNCOLIM: Mount Mary’s HS of Chinchinim, St Jude HS of Betalbatim, Fr Agnel Multipurpose HSS of Verna, Gauncar HSS of Raia and Rosary HSS of Navelim moved ahead in the U-17 boys Salcete Taluka Subroto Mukherjee football tournament played at Cuncolim School ground, Cuncolim, on Wednesday.
In the first match of the day, Mount Mary’s HS Chinchinim defeated OL of Snow’s HS of Raia 2-0. Sohil Shaikh and Gibbs Pinto were the scorers.
In the second match, St Jude HS scored 5-2 tie- breaker win over St Joseph’s Educational Institute of Chandor after the match ended in 1-1 draw.
Fr Agnel Multipurpose HSS of Verna defeated Mt Mary’s HSS of Chinchinim 3-0. Joyson Fernandes scored a brace while Clifton Rocha added one goal.
Gauncar HSS of Raia also moved ahead with 2-0 win over OL of Health HS of Cuncolim. Melwin Fernandes and Senvoy Cruz were the scorers. Rosary HSS of Navelim thrashed Manovikas HS 7-0. Garrison Fernandes scored hat-trick, Salvador Gama scored a brace while Franson Furtado and Vellroy Colaco scored a goal each.
