PANJIM: The Goa Cricket Association (GCA) has launched a new programme at its indoor cricket academy in Porvorim.
It is aimed at kinaesthetic development in young boys and girls. Based on the child’s aptitude, one can then focus on specialised sports involving multiple skills.
The programme aims to develop basic skills like sharp reflexes, balance, strength, power, agility, coordination, flexibility, psycho-social development, which are prerequisites for athletic training.
A combination of activities such as table-tennis, boxing, badminton, mini tennis, gymnastics, futsal, aerobics and core stability development using pilates, power yoga, cognitive development techniques will be taken up by specialised instructors.
