PANJIM: Mustifund High School, Panjim defeated Dr. KB Hedgewar High School by 16 runs to be crowned the champions in the U-14 President’s Cup organised by GCA’s, on Friday.
In the finals played at Campal ground, Mustifund High School put a 160 all out in 36.2 overs.
Kiran Rathore (39) Aryan Naselkar (26), Omkar Parab (16) and Nronmay Vaigankar (12) not out, scored for Mustifund High School.
Saideep Naik took three wickets for Dr KB Hedgewar HS giving away 32 runs while Manish Kakode, Rohan Vadyekar and Devand Naik took two wickets each to end the inning at 160 runs.
In reply, KB Hedgewar’s Sahil Kudalkar put up a brilliant show as he scored half century for his team while Manish Kakode (10) and Saideep Naik (17) were the other contributors.
Mustifund HS Ajinkya Chari took down three wickets while Kastub Pinguinkar took 2 wickets while Aryan Mashelkar picked one to end KB Hedgewar HS’ run to 144 in 36.2 overs to win the match by 16 runs.
