Narrow win for Nagoa Sporting

Nagoa Sporting Club scored a hard fought solitary goal victory over Milagres Sports Club, Mapusa to move into the finals of the All-Goa inter village Mahabank Platinum Jubilee Trophy soccer tournament sponsored by Bank of Maharashtra and organised by Adarsh Yuvak Sangh at Calangute Association ground, here on Thursday.
After failing to score in the first half, Nagoa took the lead in the 40th minute of play through Stanley Coutinho. Down by a goal, Milagres fought tooth and nail with the induction of Harish Yadav but the Nagoa defence led by Sanjay, Babloo and Venancio stood their ground to deny Milagres the equaliser. Milagres fought till the final whistle with hard working Harish trying all his tricks but a goal eluded them. Nagoa on the other hand could have doubled the lead a couple of times but their forwards were off target. Nagoa now await the winners of second semi-final to be played between Clube Sao Minguel, Taleigao and Candolim Sports Club.
