MARGAO: Nashik CA, Dwarka, Lucknow and Vijaya CA won their matches against Margao CA, Narmada (Gujarat), Kapoor CA (Kolkata) and CCI (Belgaum) in the Late Bhikoo Pai Angle tournament organised by Margao Cricket Youth Club played at Agonda, Curchorem, Shriroda and Fatorda grounds on Wednesday.
At Agonda ground, Nashik Cricket Academy stopped the dream run of the Goan outfit when they hammered 293 for 3 in 45 overs. Poor bowling coupled with lax fielding cost the Goa team high as Sharwin Kisave (73), Yash (52) Ravindra Maccha (45) played methodically to build up a formidable total. Granthik Buyao (1/32), Anvit Bhobe (1/59) and Aryan Prabhudesai were the wicket takers. Then Ravindra Maccha(3/5) was the wrecker in chief as MCA slumped to 75 all out in 25 overs. Aniket and Saptashree claimed 2 wickets each.
Meanwhile, at Curchorem ground, Dwarka on their third match in style as they smashed the Gujarat side by 171 runs Dwarka won the toss and amassed 268 all out in 37 overs. Mustanshir (89), Ansh (78) batted well for Dwarka. Sanket (3/42) was the successful bowler for Narmada. Aryan (4/21) was instrumental in the collapse of Narmada for 97 in 25.2 overs. Priyansh (47) resisted the Dwarka bowling.
In a tough match at Fatorda ground, CCI got the better of Vijaya in an all Belgaum affair. In a low scoring match Vijaya could manage only 86 in 33 overs with Gaurav (3/6), Vivek (2/6) Adoushay (4/33) proved deadly. Manoj Sutar managed to score 22. Chasing this modest target CCI made heavy weather as they scraped past the target in 36.2 overs as Rohit hit a valuable 36.
Shiroda – In another low scoring match, CA made light work of Kolkata when they skittled them out for a paltry 28 in only 9 overs, at Shiroda ground. Shivam Singh was deadly as he scapled 6 wickets for only 7 runs. Amit Yadav took 3.
