PANJIM: The Goa Hiking Association (GHA) will organise a National Himalayan Trekking Expedition, at Ghoshal –Manali, Himachal Pradesh from April to June 2018. Two high altitude mountaineering expeditions have been planned, namely, Ghoshal to Beas Kund (Alt 11,975 ft.) and Ghoshal to Bhrighu Lake (Alt 14,400 ft.).
Additionally, Goa Hiking Association will also engage in educational camping in the Himalayas for school students between April to June.
The Goa Hiking Association has taken up the cause of hiking, trekking, mountaineering and climbing for the youngsters in Goa. Working their way up from the last 35 years, Goa Hiking Association has effectively popularized these activities enabling the youth to reap great mental and physical health benefits.
The educational camping activity for school students will include 6 days of camping from April 15 to 10.
The treks from Ghoshal to Bhrigu Lake and Beaskund will take place between May 1 to 30. The treks will also include rock climbing, rappelling, and camp fire.
Speaking about the initiative, Pramod Kamat, president of the GHA said, “We are delighted to engage with young girls and boys and show them the real face of nature through these treks. I am sure they will cherish this experience for a lifetime.”
