PANJIM: Navelim Sporting Club edged past Pax of Nagoa 5-4 via the tie-breaker to sail into the final of 22nd inter-village Lourdes festival soccer organized by United Club of Utorda in memory of AV Antao and late Wency Pereira, at SAG ground, Utorda, Thursday. The teams were locked goalless at full time.
In the penalty shoot-out, Jason Pereira, Wilton Gomes, Clinton Niasso, Bitu Singh and Delric Gomes scored for Navelim while Shawn Pereira, Ajay Satarkar, Basilio Rego and Savio Fernandes converted for Pax of Nagoa.
In last quarter-finals, held on Friday, Maina Sports Club beat Betalbatim Sporting 4-2 via the tie-breaker to sail into semi-finals. The teams were locked goalless at full time.
Bruno Fernandes, Joaquim Carvalho, Savio Fernandes and Stephen Fernandes converted for Maina SC while Jhonson D’Souza and Allwyn Fernades scored for Betalbatim.
