The teams adopted aggressive approach and kept the Sunday crowd on their toes. They tried to create a couple of openings towards the death but the score line remained goalless at half time.
The lone goal came in the 20th minute of the second session after Rosevelt Telles slotted past the rival goalkeeper with a snap shot after receiving a through pass from Wilton Gomes.
Spurred by the success, Navelim Villagers Union intensified their attacks and pushed their opponents on the back-foot. Navelim Villagers Union nearly doubled the lead but Palolem goalkeeper Glen D’Souza came to his side’s rescue when he stopped Wilton Gomes’ spot kick after rival defender Joebourn Alfonso brought down Rosevelt Telles inside the penalty box.
Navelim Villagers Union will now meet United Club of Benaulim in the final on August 15.
