UTORDA: Navelim Sporting Club blanked CAC Sports Social Club, Cansaulim 2-0 to enter the semi-finals of 27th Lourdes Football festival tournament organised by United Club of Utorda in memory of their past President Roque Noronha, at SAG ground, Utorda, on Sunday.
Navelim’s Clinton Niasso was in thick of action and his dribbling and power shot attracted the spectators.
Navelim forged ahead in the 20th minute through Clinton Niasso’s snap shot after a defensive lapse by Cansaulim defence.
Navelim doubled their lead again through Clinton Niasso off an assist made by Travis Souza in the 32nd minute.
The score at lemon time was 2-0.
Post-resumption, Cansaulim retailiated with several forays through Kenneth who put lot of pressure but the Navelim defence stood like a solid rock.
Navelim Sporting Club will now meet the winners of Uguem Rising Club and Sao Jose de Areal SC in the semi-finals.
