CAVELOSSIM: Navelim Sporting downed St Anthony, Assolda 3-0 to move into the final of the Cavelossim Village Panchayat Cup organised by Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim, at Fr Dunstan & Wellington ground, on Monday.
In the first half, Navelim Sporting took the lead through Jason Martins who placed the ball to the right side of the goal after beating the Assolda keeper Johnson Fernandes in the 30th minute off Aulon Gomes’ assist.
In the second half in the 59th minute, referee David Rebello made no hesitation to flash a red card to Assolda’s Succoro Fernandes. In quick succession, Navelim’s Clinton Niasso of Navelim scored the second goal. Avlon Gomes made it 3-0 for Navelim Sporting.
Navelim Sporting will now meet the winner of Sporting Club of Davorlim and Margao SC on November 11 in the final.
