RAIA: Navelim Sporting entered the finals of the 34th All-Goa St Anne’s inter-village festival soccer tournament 2024, organised by Ponda Footballers and powered by Dr Bhatikar Charitable Trust & Rising, Ponda, with support from SAG, held at the Animal husbandry ground in Curti-Ponda.
Navelim Sporting secured their spot in the finals by defeating Sai Avtar, Anjuna, 5-4 in a tie-breaker after a goalless draw. Sai Avtar dominated the match, with Navelim Sporting narrowly escaping defeat as their defender cleared the ball from the goal line twice.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Valinton da Silva, Aden Pereira, Nash Pereira, Ronaldo Pereira, and Noah Luis scored for Navelim Sporting, while Faheez Mohammad, Rohan Kamble, Kreepal Dhargadkar, and Saiesh Govekar scored for Sai Avtar.
Selvin Gomes of Navelim Sporting was declared man-of-the-match.
