CANACONA:?Navelim Village Union, defeated Uguem Rising Club in a tie-breaker to advance to the second round of the 5th Fr. Bento Martin’s Memorial inter-village All Goa Football tournament at SAG Grounds, Agonda on Friday.
Taking strong contenders off-hook, Uguem Rising Club took an early lead after Agnelo Carvalho shot home in the 12th minute of the game to take the lemon break 1-0.
On changing ends Agnelo striked again in the 3rd minute of the second half to increase his team tally 2-0. but a few minutes later, Milton Gomes reduced the margin for his team Navelim Village Union, while another goal by his teammate Jaison Pereira leveled the score 2-2 taking the match to tie-breaker.
