Navelim Villagers score narrow win

Navelim Villagers Union scored a narrow win over host Dando Boys, Benaulim 1-0 to march into the quarter-finals of 14th Benaulim Villagers football tournament, organised by Dando Boys, at Dando grounds, Benaulim on Tuesday.
The all-important goal came in the second session when striker Alvito Colaco slotted past the rival goalkeeper.
Dando Boys certainly did not deserve to win. They were unable to stitch together a single decent move and seldom troubled the rival defence.
Navelim Villagers dominated the entire proceedings but poor finishing let them down in the opening session as their forwards squandered an easy scoring chances
The teams played cautiously at the start, but Navelim Villagers came back with renewed ideas midway in the second session.
Alvito Colaco scored the all-important goal after veteran Domnic Cabral had picked him with a perfect pass.
