RAIA: Navelim Villagers Union defeated UC Benaulim 5-4 via the tie-breaker and moved into quarter-finals of 32nd Super Soccer tournament in memory of Joao Francis Fernandes at Dando ground, Benaulim. Navelim led 1-0 at the break.
The opening goal came in the very first minute from Navelim’s Mel Gomes.
The second half saw Benaulim dominating and Nicholas Rodrigues equalized with a spot kick in the 45th minute.
Navelim could have emerged victorious but Benaulim’s goalkeeper Vhelian Rebeĺlo proved a stumbling block for them.
Benaulim goalkeeper Vheilan was awarded the man-of-the match prize by Adrian Torres.
