RAIA: Navelim Villagers Union blanked Parish Youth, Nuvem, 3-0, to march into the semifinals of Couthino Family Cup 2024 organised by Santa Cruz Society, Poitomado-Cuncolim and played at school playground, Cuncolim, on Tuesday.
In the exciting quarter-finals, both the teams played attacking soccer from the word go and Navelim Villagers Union scored the first goal in the 7th minutes of the game through Sadroy Costa off a pass from Prestly Gomes with neat placement while Inacio Colaco send a cross pass to Joywin Costa who failed to tap the ball in open net in the 10th minute of the game. At half time, Navelim were leading 1-0.

Changing over Melvin Fernandes of Nuvem missed the target in one-to-one situation in the 35th minutes of the game then Nash Pereira of Navelim, send a long pass to Travis Souza who made no mistake to place the ball in Nuvem’s net to make 2-0 in 45th minutes of the game. Later, Nuvem’s Shubert Colaco’s header was well collected by Navelim goalkeeper. In the dying minutes of game a corner kick taken by Prestly was well converted by Tarvin Souza to complete his brace.
Travis Souza of Navelim Villagers Union was awarded man-of-the-match by Alton Cardozo.
