United Club of Nerul defeated Sao Miguel, Taleigao 4-2 via the sudden-death tie-breaker
in the fourth match of 13th Holy Cross soccer tournament organised by Holy Cross Sports Club, Vodlemoll, Kadoka, on Monday. There was no score at full time.
The teams started well with dangerous attacks. United had more ball possession , but could not capitalize on the opportunities that came their way.
After the change over, Sao Miguel looked very energetic but their attempts fizzled out as the game progressed. On the other hand, United striker Agnelo put up a fine show with some stunning strikes towards the goal.
In the tie-breaker, Royston Pereira, John Vaz, Agnelo Lobo and Maulali Naik scored for United while Levino Pereira and Cedric Pixoto were the scorers for Sao Miguel.
Maulali Naik of United was cautioned by the referee for unsporting behaviour.
