CALANGUTE: Nerul Sports Club trounced Candolim Sports Club 4-0 to move into the semi-finals of 4th Rusi Daver memorial inter- village football tournament organized by Adarsh Yuvak Sangh at Saligao ground, Tuesday.
The teams began positively but it was Nerul who took the lead in the 10th minute through Jennifer Clemente’s strike.
Stung by the reverse, Candolim exerted pressure on the rival defence but their forwards were left frustrated by the strong Nerul defence line time and again.
Changing over, Nerul scored two quick goals within 10 minutes through Deepraj Sangelkar and Ritesh Gaonkar to take the game away from Candolim.
Ritesh remained lively and scored his second in the 55th minute.
