MARGAO: Around 33 hoardings and sign boards erected illegally along Salcete’s coastal belt were razed down by Salcete Block Development Officer on Tuesday.
The demolition squad requisitioned by the Salcete BDO went about the work in the villages of Cavelossim, Carmona, Varca, Benaulim and Seraulim and razed down the hoardings.
BDO Uday Prabhudesai informed that the demolition squad has removed all illegal hoardings and sign boards and those obstructing vision from the road sides. “The squad removed around 15 hoardings and sign boards in Cavelossim, three in Carmona and many others in Seraulim, Benaulim and Varca”, he said, adding that most of the hoardings identified as per the high court order stands removed and demolished.
