Fire Scare at Aldona Market After Smoke Spotted from Shop Roof; Timely Action Prevents Major Blaze

A major fire scare was averted at Aldona Market early on Wednesday after alert locals noticed smoke billowing from the roof of a shop and immediately informed the Fire and Emergency Services.

Before firefighters reached the scene, a local resident entered the shop and discovered that a main electrical wire had caught fire. The flames were quickly extinguished, preventing the blaze from spreading.
