Nerul SC pip Adarsh

Nerul Sports Club scripted a 2-0 victory over Adarsh Yuvak Sangh in Reira Soccer today. Nerul overcame a spirited and fighting Adarsh 2-0 in a thrilling match of the Reira Soccer being played at Saligao Sporting grounds, Saligao.
In a match full of action, Adarsh started well in the first half but their forwards could not find the target.  Nerul too could not make the best of the opportunities that came their way. Both the teams shared the spoils in the first half.
The second half proved to be an interesting affair with Nerul, capitalizing on the defensive lapse, scored the first goal through the boots of Clyde Dias in the third minute of the second half.   Down by a goal, Adarsh improved their game by notches in search of the equalizer but their forwards missed chances that came their way.
In a counter move, Nerul could have increased the lead but goalkeeper came to the rescue of Adarsh.  Though Adarsh had a number of chances to neutralize the lead, their forwards were either wayward or shot into the hands of the rival goalkeeper.
With time running out and Adarsh mounting pressure on rival defence,  Nerul mounted a counter attack and with solo run from the centre, Deepak Sangelkar unleashed a powerful shot which beat the goalkeeper hands down producing the second goal in the 29th minute of the second half.
Adarsh however dominated the second half producing as many as second corners to just 2 of their opponents.
