MAPUSA: Nerul Sports Club trounced Football Club of Siolim by a thumping 5-1 win to enter the quarters of the Vagator PYSC Soccer 2017, played at Vagator ground, Ozren on Friday.
The winners started the onslaught in the 10th minute of play when Brijesh’s 30-yard blistering shot crashed into the Siolim nets, 1-0. Paul made it 2-0 in favour of Nerul. Thereon Akash Banaulikar and Anand Madgaonkar scored one goal each to make it 4-0 at halftime.
Changing ends FC Siolim managed to get a goal to their credit in the 54th minute of play with Kashiram scoring from the penalty spot, 1-4. Nerul further inflated their lead through Paul to round off the score to 5-1.
