RAIA: Nerul Sports Club down Fr Agnelo Youth Sports Club, Paroda, 5-4 via tie-breaker to enter the semi-finals of the Bro Eulalio Vaz memorial football tournament organised by Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda, at Don Bosco Oratory ground, Fatorda on Monday.
In a exciting quarter-finals, Nerul Prajoyt Mandrekar missed the first chance to score in the 10th minute of the game while Fr Agnelo YSC missed two goals scoring chances in the 18th and 25th minute through Salwin and Jaison.
In the second session of play, Steve Menezes of Fr Agnelo YSC had the golden opportunity to take lead for his team but shoot out of the frame. Nerul SC also created many chances but Aniket, Anand and Mahadev couldn’t hit the target and full time score remained 0-0.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Nerul SC scored through Aniket, Nikhil, Mahadev, Aniket Naik and Sainath and for Fr Agnel YSC Anthony, Omkar, Gladson and Parvesh were on target. Nerul SC will now meet Chandor Club in the semi-final.
