MAPUSA: New English HS Kerim defeated Shree Durga HS Parse to claim Goa Cricket Association U-16 Boys Shri Dilip Sardessai title played at Panchayat ground, Varkhand Pernem here today.
Batting first, New English HS were restricted to 131 in 26.3 overs.
Anant Sawal 22 (26) and Aditya Athkar 20 (30) top scored for Kerim side with Deep Morye 19 (35) and Roger D’Souza 18 (29) contributing to their team target.
For Shree Durga HS, Madhukar Govekar picked five wickets giving away just 38 runs while Pratik Kambli pocketed four wickets giving away 17 runs.
However, a strong bowling and fielding performance helped New English bowl out Shree Durga HS for mere 87 runs.
Madhukar Govekar 33 (40) top scored for the losing side with Sakharam Dhargalkar 22 (33) being another contributor.
For New English HS, Deep Morye bagged five wickets while Rajat Zparastekar grabbed four wickets.
New English HS Kerim won by 47 runs.
