PANJIM: Master Nhehern Acharya has been presented the Excellence Award of Yogasana for the year 2013-14 for his outstanding performance at International Yoga Championship during the last six years at a felicitation function held to honour State, National and International yoga medal winners organised by Goa Yoga Association and Acharya Institute of Yoga in collaboration with the SAG, at Directorate of Art and Culture, Patto-Panjim, recently.
Nhehern received a cash prize of Rs 25,000, donated by Arlinda Jose Casmiro Periera of Cansaulim in memory of her husband Casmiro Jose Periera, from Executive Director of Sports Authority of Goa V.M.Prabhudesai in the presence of Secretary General of Yoga Federation of India, Haryana Ashok Kumar Agarwal; Joint Secretary of Yoga Federation Mrs Vaasanti, Vice President of Goa Yoga Association Dr. Veerendra Gaonkar and President of Acharya Institute of Yoga Subhash Naik.
The best yoga players’ awards for the year 2010 to 2014 were also presented to the following students with cash award of Rs 1,000 each: Eniede Cotta (Dempe HS of Science), Rudraksh Kelkar (Goa Engineering College), Daul Saab (Dempo College), Sachin Panikar (People’s HS), Deeptesh Naik (Govt HS, Mapusa), Anand Joshi (Savior of the World School, Loutolim), Vishal Gawas (ITI), Vrushabh Usgaokar (Saraswati HSS, Ponda), Saraswati Hiremath (Saraswat College, Mapusa), Arti Karve (Saraswat College, Mapusa), Mega Kampli (Don Bosco HSS, Panjim), Praveena Nadaf (Govt HS, Mapusa), Deepa Pun (Mary Immaculate HS, Panjim), Priyanka Vishwakarma (Govt HS, Mapusa).
Most promising player in the under-10 category: Akshay Rawal (Janata Vidyalaya, Mapusa), Most promising player in the under-8 category Abhijit Dhere (Kids Kingdom School).
