Niraj emerges champion

Rohan Ahuja, Ritviz Parab, Barath M and CM Nitish Belurkar won the second, third, fourth and fifth places respectively

PANJIM: Niraj Saripalli emerged champion in Kreeda Prabodhini all-Goa rapid open chess championship, organized by Kreeda Prabhodhini, Porvorim, in association with Bardez Taluka Chess Association (BTCA) and Goa Chess Association (GCA), at Porvorim, recently.
Rohan Ahuja, Ritviz Parab, Barath M and CM Nitish Belurkar won the second, third, fourth and fifth places respectively.
Shane Braganca, Adv PM Kantak, Vasant Naik, Nandini Saripalli and Eeshan Gad won the sixth to 10th spot respectively.
Anish Prabhudesai, WCM Swera Braganca, Pradip Kulkarni, Brendon Peroz, Sahil Shetty, WCM Gunjal Chopdekar, Navin Morajkar, Ridikesh Vernekar, Madhavan G and Sachin Arolkar also won.
Suhas Asnodkar won the above 40 category prize.
Age category prizes were won by Prateek Borkar, Ruturaj Desai and Sayuri Naik in under-7; Sahil Desai and Tanvi Hadkonkar in under-9; Eesh Prabhudessai and Vrunda Naik in under-11, Anirudh Parsekar and Riddhi Zantye in under-13 and Saish Fondekar  and Manali Potekar in under-15. Sparsh Kamat and Somay Naik for Kreeda Prabhodini students. 
Kishore Bandekar, Secretary of GCA and Sanjay Kavlekar, chess coach were felicitated for their contribution to chess by chief guest Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar. 
He also complimented Kreeda Prabodhini for their work in development of sports.
President of Kreeda Prabodhini Avdhut Parrikar, Secretary of BTCA Vishwas Pilarnkar, Suhas Asnodkar, chief arbiter Arvind Mhamal; Secretary and Treasurer of Kreeda Prabodhini Santosh Kamat and Sandesh Prabhu Chodnekar were also present.
Adv Sachin Desai, vice-president of Kreeda Prabodhini compered.
