PANJIM: CM Niraj Saripalli won the All-Goa Rapid Chess championship organized by The Serials in association with the Centenary Chess Club at Centenary Hall, Baina, Vasco.
In the decisive final round, top seeded Niraj won against WCM Gunjal Chopdekar of Tiswadi. He got 8 points and won Rs 8000 and a trophy.
Kapil Pawse, who made a remarkable comeback after eight years, claimed the first runner-up position with 8 points, earning Rs. 6000 and a trophy. Aryan Shamrao Raikar finished third with 7.5 points. He got Rs. 4000 and a trophy.
Anirudh Parsekar and Asmita Ray, of MTCA, secured the fourth and fifth positions, respectively, with 7.5 points each.

U-13 boys: Sarthak Kavlekar, Hawal Shreyash, Sahil Shetty, Chaitanya Patil and Mayank Kurtikar. U-13: Rachel Pereira, Shriya Patil, Riddhi Gaude, Sayyed Maizah, Sequeira Jennica. U-11 boys: Erwin Albuquerque, Sairaj Narvenkar, Shubh Borkar, Rajveer Patil, Saras Powar. U-11 girls: Diya Sawal, Lyia Marysil Silveira, Rochel Pereira, Jensina Sequeira, Tanisha Uday Dessai. U-9 boys: Vihaan Tari, Joshua Telles, Gawas Rishit, Shaurya Agrasani, Aryan Naik.
Bhimappa Harijan, Kiran Chopdekar, Narvekar P S, Prasad Naik, Prabhu Narendra were honoured in veterans category. Schaffer Viegas received the youngest player award. The tournament was supervised by Anish Naik. N A Ridikesh Vernekar was the chief arbiter, and N A Sudhakar Patgar deputy chief arbiter. I M Nitish Belurkar was the chief guest. Sachin Arolkar was the guest of honour.
