PANJIM: Nissan Boys Verna got the better of Crazy 7 1-0 to enter the semi-finals of All-Gao beach football organized by Velsao United Sports and Cultural Club at Velsao beach, Wednesday.
Crazy 7 put up a fine display but muffed umpteen chances. Brian Glen and Assumption combined well but none of them could hit the target.
Nissan Boys played defensive football and their goalkeeper was on his toes for most of the time. He was later adjudged man-of-the-match.
In the second half, Glen of Crazy 7 sent in a pass to Assumption, who in an on-one-one situation lost his balance and missed the kick, while a Nissan Boys defender delivered the ball to their striker on a counterattacking move, which he made no mistake in punting in.
In another quarter-final, Candolim defeated Bogmallo 4-3via the tie-breaker. The score was 1-1 at full time.
In the tie-breaker, Elvis, Melvin and Jolite scored for Candolim while Borges and Sandrick netted for Bogmallo.
Sandrick of Bogmallo was adjudged man-of-the-match.
