PANJIM: Sports Minister Govind Gaude on Saturday said that one can witness the sporting events without any passes or accreditation as the State government has opened all the venues of the 37th National Games for the general public.
The Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs in an advisory issued recently stated that all the venues will be open for the general public till the end of the National Games on November 9.
Gaude said, “An advisory has been issued to all the venue commandants and security in-charges to allow the general public to watch the games. The entry will be without any pass or accreditation card. They will be allowed only in the spectator areas from where they can see the sporting events.”
“Earlier, an intimation was given to all the venue commandants and security in-charges that the public should be allowed to watch the matches. But there were some complaints that people were not allowed despite the availability of empty seats in the stadium,” the Sports Minister added.
Further, Gaude said, “An advisory has been issued to give clear instruction to the concerned persons.”
“All the athletes who have won medals in the National Games would be awarded by the State government as per the scheme,” he added.
