PANJIM: Goa’s paddlers Noel Noronha and Sachin Soares (40+), Ajit Ghantker, Deepak Gopani, Joseph Sequeira, Anand Naik, Arun Naik and Sanjeev Afzalpurkar (50+) and Uday Volvoikar (60+) won their respective League matches to qualify into the Main Draw in the Individual category events, in the Forza International Veteran Cup Table Tennis championship organised by at Dr S P Mukherjee stadium, Taleigao.
In the 40+ Team event, Noel and Sachin who had reached the quarter-finals bowed out after losing 0-3 to team Shurveer comprising of R Rajesh and Vikas Mahajan. Team Shurveer beat Team King Pong (Rohit Choudhary and Vivek Bhargava) 3-0 in the 40+ finals.
The 50+ Team championship event was won by Team Thinq A(Sunil Babras & Vivek Alavni) who beat Team Punjab (Pankaj Sharma and Vivek Arora) 3-0 in the finals.
