MARGAO: Hosts Parish Youth Nuvem blanked Panchawadi United 2-0 to cruise into the semi-finals of All-Goa Nuvem Panchayat Cup inter-village football tournament organized by Parish Youth Nuvem at church ground, Nuvem, Thursday. All the goals came in the opening session.
Parish Youth Nuvem began the game on a positive note and forged ahead in the very fifth minute when Sebyton Colaco picked up the ball from Presley Colaco and the former bulged the net.
Spurred by the early success, Parish Youth Nuvem intensified their attacks and kept their opponents on the back-foot for a major part of the opening session.
Parish Youth Nuvem doubled the lead when Stanley Colaco slotted past the rival goalkeeper with a snap shot off Ivan Colaco.
Post resumption, Panchawadi United showed urgency in their approach but inexperience in their ranks were their undoing.
After taking the first half 2-0 cushion, Parish Youth Nuvem slackened their pace but did not allow their opponents to have look at their goal.
