PANJIM: Nuvem Sports Club entered the quarter- finals of All-Goa Curtorim Panchayat Cup inter-village football tournament organised by Curtorim Gymkhana at Curtorim church ground. They defeated Fr Agnelo Youth club, Paroda 3-0, Sunday.
Nuvem opened their account in the 4th minute as Myron Borges dribbled past Paroda defender Olton Fernandes and scored.
Paroda exerted pressure and Alvison D’Costa’s power-packed shot from the top of the box was brilliantly saved by Nuvem goalkeeper Blaran Fernandes at the expense of a corner kick.
Nuvem increased the lead in the 26th minute as Prestly Colaco received a long diagonal pass from Godfrey Mascarenhas and scored.
Nuvem rounded off their tally in the 50th minute with a fine placement by Stanley Colaco.
Paroda did their best to overcome Nuvem but failed due to strong Nuvem defence led by Agnelo Colaco.
