NUVEM: Nuvem SC defeated SCC Loutolim 5-4 via the tie-breaker to move into the semi-finals of the 5th Mae Dos Pobres Cup, organised by Nuvem SC, at Jesus Mary Joseph Church ground, Nuvem, on Monday.
SCC Loutolim had the first chance of the match when Sandeep Konde’s close range shot was pushed to safety by Nuvem keeper Floyd Colaco.
At the other end, Nuvem’s Alrich Pereira’s strike was brilliantly saved by Loutolim keeper Flager Moraes in the ninth minute.
Dickson Alves of Loutolim move was tackled by Myron Pereira, Nuvem defender, in the tenth minute.
This could have been a real goal scoring chance for Nuvem when Roger Colaco header hit the cross bar and went out of play.
The set piece of Anthony Araujo and Joseph Baptist should have earned the first dividend for Loutolim but Joseph curler failed to pop up into Nuvem net in the 40th minute.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Nuvem netted through Merriston Coutinho, Roger Colaco, Standly D’Mello, Schubert Colaco and Myron Pereira and for SCC Loutolim Floger Moraes, Mark Fernandes, Prisco Mascarenhas and Doyl Alves scored.
