NAGOA: Nuvem SC defeated CDJ Ribandar 1-0 to move into the semi-finals of the Nagoa Village Panchayat Cup football tournament organised by Rossman Cruz Sports club Nagoa, played at Nagoa Panchayat ground, on Saturday.
The Ribandar striker Pritesh Sawant missed the best chance as the latter shot into the safe hands of Nuvem keeper Joel Colaco in the 4th minute. Minutes later, defender Roger Colaco’s long ranger kissed the rival bar and went out of play. Nuvem’s Merriston Coutinho’s grounder failed to find Ribandar net. It was Roger Colaco of Nuvem who netted the match winner with a placement shot in 58th minute.
Just few minutes left for the final whistle, Shashank Naik and Rohan Shirodkar missed sitters for Ribandar.
