PANJIM: Nuvem Veterans overpowered Quepem Veterans 4-3 via tie-breaker to book final berth in 2nd All Goa Panjim Veterans football tournament at Taleigao ground, on Saturday.
Arthur Mascarenhas broke the deadlock with a powerful header to put Quepem Veterans ahead. Soon after, Nuvem Veterans equalised through Andrew Teados after receiving a cross from Xavier Colaco.
Fr Benjamin Victoria of Nuvem Veterans was solid like a rock under the cross bar effecting beautiful saves.
At the end of regulation time, the teams settled for a 1-1 draw. In the resultant tie-breaker, Xavier Colaco, Alfred Fernandes and Vincent Colaco scored for Nuvem Veterans while Caji, Rosario Carvalho scored for Quepem Veterans.
Victor Pereira, map officer of Directorate of Census, gave away man-of-the-match award to Milagres Gomes of Quepem Veterans.
