PANJIM: Old Goa Education Institute stunned Mustifund High School, Panjim to move into the finals of the Tiswadi zone U-16 Dilip Sardessai Trophy Cricket tournament, organised by Goa Cricket Association.
In the first semi-finals played at Campal grounds, Old Goa scored a shocking 37-run victory over Mushtifund.
Batting first Old Goa scored 156 all out in 32.1 overs. Nileshwar Behra (48), Aslam Sindagi (25) and Vinitkumar Surepag (15) were the scorers for Old Goa.
Sadanand Nagvekar (4/20), Yatish Bandekar (3/52) were the pick of bowlers for Mushtifund.
Soham Parrikar, Ketan nandrekar and Pratahm Natekar a wicket each.
In reply Mushtifund were all out for 119 in 26.1 overs.
Ajinkya Chari (30), Yatish Bandekar (17), Sadanand Nagvekar (15), Deeshank Kunkalikar (12) and Pratham Natekar (11) were the contributors to the total.
For Old Goa Sonu Singh picked four wickets. Aslam Sindagi (2), Sagar Havanur and Sachinkumar Tirkey picked a wicket each.
Old Goa will now meet Don Bosco High School, Panjim in the finals to be played on March 2.
