MARGAO: Dempo are closing in on signing Nigerian defender Uga Okpara from East Bengal as the replacement for Australian centre-back Simon Colosimo.
Okpara in no stranger in Indian football, having played couple of years for Kolkata giants East Bengal.
The Kolkata giants could not use the services of the Nigerian defender last season due to injury. Dempo Sports Club have two foreigners in their ranks with Australian striker Ozbey Tolgay and Afghanistan international Harron Fakhruddin also known as Amiri. They are also looking for a marquee player for the I-league.
