OL Carmel Church, St Francis Xavier Velim emerge victorious

AGASSAIM: Our Lady of Carmel Church, Arambol boys defeated St Alex Church, Curtorim via the tie-breaker 3-0, in the All Goa Altar servers football tournament organised by the Vocation Commission for Diocesan Clergy in association with the John Paul II Foundation for Sports Goa, at St Lawrence Church, Agassaim, recently.

AGASSAIM: Our Lady of Carmel Church, Arambol boys defeated St Alex Church, Curtorim via the tie-breaker 3-0, in the All Goa Altar servers football tournament organised by the Vocation Commission for Diocesan Clergy in association with the John Paul II Foundation for Sports Goa, at St Lawrence Church, Agassaim, recently.
Jordan Fernandes was adjudged the best player in the boys category from the Arambol team for saving three of the spot kicks and scoring in the tie breaker.
At the other end, St Francis Xavier Church, Velim girls defeated Our Lady of Carmel Church, Arambol via the tie breaker to emerge victorious. 
Velim’s Sharufa Fernandes was adjudged the best player in the girls category for saving two penalty kicks and scoring.
In an exhibition match held earlier, Diocesan Priests team defeated the Seminary of Our Lady, Saligao 4-1.
Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrao was the chief guest for the tournament held on the vocation Sunday. FC Goa’s Seriton Fernandes was the guest of honour while GFA President Elvis Gomes and MLA St Andre Constituency Francis Silveira were the other guests. 
The event was organised under the leadership of Fr Derick Fernandes, Director, VCDC along with Fr Mario and Fr Jerome from Agassaim Parish.
Melinda Pereira proposed the vote of thanks on behalf of the John Paul II Foundation for Sports Goa.
