NAVELIM: Our Lady of Gloria SC and Carmel SC played out a 1-1 draw in the GFA’s second division league match, at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Wednesday.
Carmel SC striker Sandeep Chaudhry was at his best while OL Gloria SC’s Danny Fernandes c gave his best to his team.
Danny Fernandes and Leran Dias of our lady of Gloria sc missed chances to score in the fourth and eighth minutes respectively. Prestly Gomes of Carmel SC shot over the cross bar of Gloria.
Carmel midfielder Velington Almeida in the 37th minute took control of the ball from Prestly Gomes dribbled past defenders Jamson Fernandes and Velroy Borges and took a power packed shot which crushed into Gloria net.
Substitute Ignatius DSilva of Carmel took a corner kick which was about to dip into Carmel net. However, the attempt was palmed away to safety by Carmel keeper Francisco Colaco. As the match progressed, Gloria’s Daren Gomes missed a chance to score in the 47th minute. It was Danny Fernandes of Gloria who equalised in the 80th minute with a curler.
