RAIA/Benaulim: Our Lady of Gloria SC thrashed Shiroda Youth Club 6-0 in the GFA 3rd division league football match played at Raia Panchayat ground, on Saturday.
Our Lady of Gloria SC dominated the match since the first whistle and constantly troubled the rival defence with their attacking tactics trying to convert every chance that came their way.
Valencio and Jaston put up a good show for Our Lady of Gloria SC while Royston and Meliston proved to be good enough for the rivals.
Velencio Fernandes (6’ and 90’), Jaston Dias (8’ and 40’) scored a brace each while Shubert Dias (10’) and Velhon Antao (43’) scored a goal each for Gloria SC.
Royston Vaz and Meliston D’Silva missed a sitter each in the 5th and 8th minutes respectively for Shiroda YC.
Shiroda YC tried to score a consolation goal but the rivals defended resolutely.
In another match at Dando ground, Benaulim, Varca SC defeated Dando Boys Club, Benaulim 5-2.
Clive Colaco scored a hat-trick for Varca SC in the 30th, 58th and 76th minutes respectively while Bapan Chahel scored a brace in the in the 36th and 90th minutes.
Kinglee scored a brace for Dando Boys Club, Benaulim in the 24th and 41st minute.
Dando Boys tried to make a comeback after Kingslee’s brace but Varca SC wall was unbreakable as the players defended resolutely not allowing any of the rival strikers to make their way towards the goal.
