BENAULIM: Our Lady of Gloria SC, Raia thrashed Curtorim Gymkhana 5-3 via the tie-breaker to move into the quarter-finals of the 22nd Dando Boys Cup football organised by Dando Boys Club, Benaulim, at Sao Joao Baptist ground, Dando-Benaulim, on Wednesday.
Gloria SC striker Lloyd Cardozo took control of the ball from Stephen Alvares and dribbled past Curtorim defender Manuel Castanha and shot from close range but Curtorim keeper Christo Hilario was equal to the task.
It was Curtorim’s Caitano Viegas who opened the account in the 25th minute with a power-packed shot off Josly Gomes assist but the joy was short-lived as Oilex Oliveira equalised for Gloria in the 30th minute with a snap shot.
In the second half, Milagres Fernandes made it 2-1 for Curtorim.
Minutes later, Gloria levelled terms through Stephen Alvares.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Our Lady of Gloria SC, Raia netted through Stephen Alvares, Allywn Dias and Oilex Oliveira while only Nelson Fernandes scored for Curtorim Gymkhana.
