Jason Fernandes scored two quick goals to give Arambol a comfortable lead before the breather. Changing over, Candolim lads did try to bounce back into the game but goals were hard to come. Samson Fernandes took the game away from Candolim’s reach scoring the third goal for his team.
The parish priest of St Alex church, Calangute, Fr Cypriano D’Silva was the chief guest and gave away the trophies to the winners in the presence of Youth Animator Fr Doel Dias, Bro Jovial Fernandes and Alex Fernandes.
Arambol Youth won the glittering Calangute Parish Youth Silver Jubilee Trophy besides the cash prize of Rs 7,000 while the runners-up, Candolim Parish Youth had to be content with cash prize of Rs 5,000 and the runners-up trophy.
Jason Ferrnandes (Arambol) won the Best Player award while Daphne Rodrigues (Candolim) was awarded the Best Goal-keeper award. St Francis Xavier Parish Youth, Duler won the Fair Play trophy. Two semi-finalists were also awarded cash prizes. In all 14 teams took part in the tournament. Salis Fernandes was the match referee.
