DAMON-RAIA: Our Lady of Snows High School, Raia thumped St Joseph High School, Shiroda 5-1 to move into the quarter-finals of the 4th Edition of Fr Peter SVD Memorial football tournament, organised by SVD Mission Seminary in association with SVD Friends Association, at SVD Seminary ground, Damon-Raia, on Friday.
Upcoming talented striker Nipun Tete opened the score-line for Snows with a placement shot off Darshan Kumar’s connect in the 12th minute.
Six minutes later, Darshan Kumar doubled the lead for Snows.
Later in the 25th minute, Aymaan Shaikh netted the third for Snows while Clivon Antao pulled a goal back for St Joseph in the 26th minute.
As the match progressed, in the second half, Darshan Kumar and Aymaan Shaikh netted a goal each for Snows in the 46th and 50th minutes to make it 5-1 for Snows.
Aymaan Shaikh of Our Lady of Snows High School, Raia was the man-of-the-match and received the award from Elvis Gomes ex-GFA president.
Earlier the tournament was declared open by Fr Joaquim in the presence of other dignitaries.
