FATORDA: OL of Succour HS, Nagoa, Govt. Multipurpose HSS, Borda & Fr Agnel Multipurpose HSS, Verna, cruised into the second round of the U-17 Subroto Salcete Taluka football tournament organised by DSYA, at Astroturf ground, Fatorda, on Wednesday.
OL of Succour HS, Nagoa scored 2-1 hard fought win over St Xavier’s HS, Velim.
Alan Rodrigues and Yash Naik scored for the winners while Darshan Hattikar reduced the margin for St Xavier’s HS.
Govt. Multipurpose HSS, Borda blanked Govt. Multipurpose High School, Borda 4-0. Alent Colaco & Aman Patil scored a brace each for the winners.
In the third match, Fr Agnel Multipurpose HSS trounced Fr Basilio Andrade HSS, Majorda 4-0. Johann Mesquita was instrumental as he netted a hat-trick in the 47th, 51st & 53rd minutes. Earlier, Cidroy De Souza gave lead in the 32nd minute.
Meanwhile in the U-14 Mormugao taluka level, Deepvihar High School,Vasco blanked St Joseph Vaz High School, Sancoale 2-0 to move into the second round of the at Vasco ground.
