PANJIM: Omkar Desai was crowned the champion of champions at the 1st inter-collegiate body building championship at Chowgule College of Arts and Science, Margao in collaboration with ABS Fitness Zone and in association with Tiger Power Club , under the aegis of Goa Body Building and Fitness Association, at Margao, on August 18.
In the 60 kgs category 1st place was bagged by Suraj Kunkolkar (Fr Agnel College, Pilar)
2nd place by Stanney Rodrigues (Rosary College, Navelim) and 3rd place by Shardesh Uskaikar (NarayanZantey College, Bicholim).
In the 65 kgs category, Sarvar Khan (St Xaviers College, Mapusa) bagged the first place, Varad Parab (Ganpat Parsekar College, Harmal) stood second while Shubham Shirwaikar (Goa College of Pharmacy, Panjim) stood 3rd.
In the 70 kgs category, 1st place was bagged by Akash Madkaikar (Govt College, Khandola) 2nd place by Avidh Morajkar (Don Bosco, Panjim) and 3rd place by Akshay Naik (Govt College, Sakhalim).
In the 75 kgs category first place was bagged by Sainath Kuttikar (Rosary College, Navelim) while Ibrahim Saudagar (Rosary College, Navelim) stood second.
In the 75+ kgs category first place was bagged by Omkar Desai (C.E.S College Cuncolim), 2nd place by Rushab Phadte (GEC Farmagudi) and 3rd place by Nash Diniz (Fr Agnel Ashram, Verna)
Best poser was awarded to Avidh Morajkar of Don Bosco, Panjim, while most promising bodybuilder was bagged by Sainath Kuttikar (Rosary College, Navelim) and Omkar Desai of C.E.S College Cuncolim, was crowened as the champion of champions.
Earlier, chief guest the event was Sanjay Patil, President GBBFA, inaugurated the event along with Nandkumar Sawant , principal Chowgule College, Dr Devashish Bagchi, director of physical education and sports at Chowgule College, Elina Sequeira and Prisco Sequeira, of ABS fitness zone chichinim, Amey Peirera, president Tiger Power Club, Davino D’Souza, secretary Tiger Power Club and Julroy Peirera of ABS Fitness Zone, Viraj Arabekar, sanitary inspector MMC, Santosh Mapsekar, Tulshidas Shetgaokar Mahendra Desai and Joel Gonsalves, Mr India 2016.
Total 24 bodybuilders from12 colleges from all over Goa participated in the championship. All the participants were given Participation Certificates while the winners were awarded cash, trophy, certificates and medals by the distinguished guest.
