CUNCOLIM: The ONGC, Dehradun opened their campaign with win against Cuncolim Union by 3-2 sets in the 3rd edition of the All India Tata Sky Volleyball Championship organised by Cuncolim Union, at Cuncolim Volleyball court, on Tuesday late night.
Both the teams displayed spectacular smashes and blocks. ONGC Dehradun won the first set 25-22. ONGC, Dehradun through the match put up a good show of strength through Rahul. Gurdrand Singh dominated with sailing spikes and attacking and Vinit Kumar doing time bound placement ball into the rival territory.
Cuncolim Union through Ram Dhamaskar and Karthik did good spiking and attacking job. The second set was dominated by Cuncolim Union with more stamina and good communication which lacked in the first set to win 25-23.
The third set was more a one-to-one fight as ONGC Dehradun won by 26-29 and then Cuncolim Union won by 25-20. But the final set was won by ONGC, Dehradun by 15-10.
