RAIA: Don Bosco Oratary, Fatorda, entered the semi-finals of 33rd All- Goa St. Anne’s inter-village soccer in memory of Maria Anatansia Fernandes routing Sai Avtar, Anjuna 5-0 at Animal Husbandry ground, Curti-Ponda, Saturday.
Oratory’s goal scorers were Wedly Barreto, Faheez (own goal), Sarinco Fernandes, Veiton D Souza and Clive Miranda.
Oratory took the lead through a corner kick when Wedly Barreto headed in. Anjuna nearly equalized but the Oratory goalkeeper dived full length to save Samuel’s shot.
In the second half, Oratory were lucky to increase the lead when a corner kick deflected off Anjuna defender Faheez’s head and entered in his own net. Oratory further increased the lead when Sarinco Fernandes dogged past two defenders and the goalkeeper to make it 3-0.
A free kick taken from top of the box by Veiton D Souza kissed the crossbar and entered the net. In injury time, Clive Barreto scored the final goal.
Earlier, Vincent Paul Fernandes, son of late Maria A Fernandes inaugurated the tournament. Later, Vincent gave away the man-of-the match award to Velito Barreto of Oratory.
