RAIA: Our Lady of Gloria SC, Raia, edged out Rozmann Cruz Nagoa-Verna 4-1 to move into the semi-finals of Wilred Leisure football tournament played at DYSA ground, Curtorim, on Thursday.
The match started on fast pace and both teams showed urgency to score. It was Rozmann Cruz’s Andrew John who missed the target in the 17th minute of the play, while Our Lady of Gloria SC scored two quick goals through Silvano Oliver and Anson Tavares in 26th and 28th minute respectively.
In the second session of play, it was Silvano Oliver, who completed his brace by scoring the third goal for Our Lady of Gloria SC in the 40th minute by placing the ball over the goalkeeper from top of the box, while Rio Borges of Our Lady of Gloria SC scored with powerful right footer from the free kick, and made it 4-0. Rozmann Cruz pulled one goal back through Roydon Rego in the dying minutes of the game.
Silvano of Our Lady of Gloria SC was awarded the man-of-the-match by Minino Fernandes, member of Wilred Sports Club.
